Name: Altan Lugosi
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Appearance:Here
Personality:
More often, he's described as being overly serious about everything. He's always in a fighting position, so it's hard for him to grasp if someone's being friendly or overall pleasant. He only ever registers negative emotions, it seems. If someone's joking, he'd often have a puzzled, perhaps even full out confused face until someone explains that it's a joke and not anything serious. He is the polar opposite of Emerald and yet, somehow, they work together. He is a man of few words and tries avoiding speech altogether, only feeling that it's too intimate if it isn't about any sort of business.
Aside from those parts of his personality, when he does finally get around to being pleasant and somewhat grasping kindness, he is a very loyal person. He will never betray a friend in need and will spring into action if he has to. He's very reliable, but often forgetful if it is a trivial matter. The only thing that seems to be on his mind at the moment is freeing his family by finishing this upcoming quest.
Background History:Altan's life was rather easygoing. He worked on a farmland with his small family day in and day out to bring food on the table. He celebrated all of the festivals his village held and did everything in his power to make others smile. This was a time when he was a cheery lad, often poking all around to visit and see how other villagers were doing. He liked helping out whenever he could and found it fun to do trivial little tasks. One day he would be chasing his neighbor's chickens back into their coop and the next he would be helping his sweet grandmother bake a pie for the upcoming social. He was very involved with his community.
As he grew into a teenager, though, he started to stray away from that because of her. She was adventurous, didn't care to fit into a society, and all around everything he was not. Altan found himself drawn to her, even though she pushed him back quite a bit. He pursued constantly until she started to open up and they would get closer, falling in love after five years of seeing each other. They spent all their time together. Altan started to forget about his village and all of the people that were once there for him. He didn't care about them.
He started to become rude, vile, even steal things from those that had helped him. All for this poisonous girl. It came to no surprise that she would soon get pregnant, and this was when even more things started to crash around Altan. This girl never really loved him. She just wanted to find someone 'qualified' enough to get her pregnant. This enraged him. He didn't act on violence but rather told her off, only coming to visit again when she gave birth..
Turns out, her body wasn't physically ready to have a child. She lost too much blood and died just as Altan's daughter would come into the world. While he regretted ever having connections with the child's mother, he couldn't help but fall instantly for this little bundle of life. He spent the next few years raising her on his own, now integrating himself back into his own society once again with a heart filled with regret and sincere apologies. His village took him back in, although his family had taken some time to cushion the blows they received. He named his daughter Felicity and she, unlike her mother, had been raised with sweetness and patience, two traits which would transfer over at the tender age of five.
War struck the village, though, and barbarians came. They stole away children, Felicity included, and families in the name of the new 'king' that ruled the land. Enraged at this, Altan sought to meet with the king. He pleaded, threatened and bargained for his daughter and family back. The only way to get them back, though, was if Altan would embark on a journey to retrieve the Four Scrolls of Heaven. If he did this within the next ten months, Felicity and his family would be free.
Altan agreed to this quest, but he was going to do more than just collect the scrolls. He had intentions of using them to kill this wicked man and spare the land of his evil. In order to do this, though, he needed pure magic. He sought out pixies in the enchanted forest, none of which who would willingly help. So, he turned to force and caught the first one he could find, a very powerful earth bound one no less. He caught her and felt that would be the end of that...until they both found out that she could turn to almost his size. It was a rough chase, keeping up with her, but once she was caught, again, he ended up making sure she didn't leave this time around.
She was the worst decision of his life. This pixie had spirit and did everything in his power to make life even more like a living hell to Altan. It wasn't until they were caught and arrested for a short time that he got to know more about her and actually appreciate her. Once their names were cleared and they were released, their true quest began.
Fun Facts:
Because she's so young, when she meets Emerald, Felicity mistakes the pixie for her mother and goes off the assumption that because the woman has brown eyes, that is her mother.
Felicity looks exactly like Altan, to the very core.
At some point in time, rather accidentally, he ends up referring to Emerald as 'Lollipop' because of her signature item.
