Name: Lyssa Mayhem
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Appearance: Here
Personality:
In her earlier years, Lyssa was quite the pushover. She had no voice in her own home, no opinion, no mind, nothing. She was practically an empty shell that was pushed around mercilessly by everyone and anyone. As she grew up, money was starting to get tough. Her mother was ill and her father had left a long time ago for a younger, richer woman. She immediately learned the worth of money and how it felt to earn it and grew to despise working and she feared men, greatly. Being near one made her stutter awfully. She was often abused and literally slapped around by the men at the bar, so she had a high pain tolerance. When she started to take more lessons from Calum Striker, Lyssa started to grow more of a backbone. She didn't take any crap from anyone and would do the slapping around if things got too bad. The adrenalin pumping through her veins was strong enough to make her feel as strong as a man. Soon enough the drunken regulars would know whom they shouldn't mess with.
Background History:
(As mentioned before) Lyssa's mother had been fragile in health for such a long time. With a husband who up and left her for a younger, richer woman, times were tough for young Lyssa and her three brothers. Her mother did her best to work anywhere she could, but she was so desperate that she had to turn to dirty dealings. Not prostitution, but rather thievery and selling on a private market. She was exposed to so many horrors ranging from tobacco all the way up to new diseases that affected her with devastating results. Lyssa, as she was coming of age, couldn't bear to see her mother struggling so much. At the age of fourteen, she got a job as a tavern maiden and served beer to men of all kinds at night. The pay wasn't exceedingly high bit it got her struggling family by. She had a hard time saying no to most things, so she found herself working until the sun rose. She would then head home and sleep for not even an hour before she would have to get up to work at another tavern in the morning. Because of this, she sometimes had her occasional slip ups, which the men at the bar didn't appreciate.
She unintentionally enraged one particular drunken man one day and almost found herself receiving the beating of a lifetime if it weren't for a handsome, yet cocky, stranger stopping it. Lyssa felt a bit indebted to him but tried avoiding him because she knew he was military man, and they were often nothing but trouble. Apparently fate had different plans because the next morning she awoke next to him in a bed that was not her own, completely spent. This was only the very first step of her mixed feelings for this man, Calum Striker. He took her virginity, and yet she didn't even know who he was. That she found was unforgivable. But she pushed it aside, knowing that he pretty much saved her life. After learning his name, she took up as many lessons as possible from him on how to 'grow a backbone' and 'stand up for herself'. It took quite a while, really, and Lyssa felt as if it was hopeless, but it would seem that the day that Calum left was when everything started to come out. She started to love him and care for him deeply and he just left..?
Without telling her, thinking about her, anything? Surely he had to feel the same way. Or so Lyssa thought at first. She grew to resent and hate him and that fueled her to pursue military goals as well, no matter what anyone said. She still worked at the bar but when she had made a slip up, instead of letting a man protect her, she dared the drunken bastard to approach. He tried and immediately Lyssa had him looking like a moron, his friends, too! They knew who they weren't going to mess with and sooner or later they had all died from alcohol poisoning or some other ironic fate.
Lyssa felt it was her time to go. She pursued a military career dressed as a male at first, passing all the ranks with flying colours. Once she had reached a higher positon, she revealed herself to be a woman. Instead of being thrown in jail or killed, her superiors kept her, feeling that her strategic plans would aid them in battles to come. Soon enough, she would become a Major General at the age of Twenty-Three, close to a General while still holding an immense amount of power.
War was starting to grow rather rapidly in their country as well, and they felt as if merging would be beneficial for them and some other country. Although, and this was two years later from Lyssa's promotion to Major General, which was coincidentally some time after Calum became General, what Lyssa didn't know was that their allied country would be Calum's. She was surprised to see him but didn't show it. She simply offered cold words even when he went to try embracing and kissing her. She pushed him away and continued on with her duties. With whatever advances Calum had made toward her, Lyssa would ignore or stop him in his tracks. Little did she know that they would be sharing living quarters during the duration of the war, be it in a tent or a one bed (Where there was literally only ONE bed in the bedroom) room.
Fun Facts:
When she smiles, most of her allies believe it to be a 'bad omen'. Although her smile is very pretty.
Lyssa has a horrible grudge out of a fear of getting close to someone and having them abandon her again. So one can also say that, yes, she has abandonment issues.
She is always wearing heels, even when it seems to be in a bad position.
She doesn't talk too much, and when she does, it's either a sarcastic remark or some sort of criticism. Rarely does a comment pass through her lips.
Most refer to her as an Ice Goddess, saying that she's gorgeous, all knowing and powerful but terribly cold and separated from the rest.
