Name: Truska
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Appearance: Here
Personality:
Truska has been written off as alluring and very mysterious. Even the people she works around every now and then in a traveling cirque don't know all that much about her. She doesn't talk about her past and when someone asks her a question about it, she simply smiles and tells them 'all in due time'. She is hardworking, gentle in nature until something sets her off. Seeing as she is a fire mage, as well as a belly dancer, it wouldn't be the best of someone's intentions to piss her off.
She will summon all of her fire beasts in the most alluring dances ever performed. Often it is a person's last. She is rather emotional and her powers reflect off of that, so she does her best to tone it down as much as she can without really 'bottling it up'. She feels she is a threat to not only herself but to others around her and is fearful of hurting any of them in any way. In that way, she doesn't trust herself and finds that she doesn't trust others around her since any little thing at the wrong time could set her off in the worst of ways.
Background History:
Twenty eight years ago, there was a community that formed itself deep within the woods of the area Tsuba. They promised and solemnly swore to uphold the ways of their anccestors, native nomads who practiced magic and had been given 'gifts' from their gods themselves. This was where Truska was born. Each member within the community had been gifted in some way. Most were worldly gifts such as being exceedingly exceptional at blacksmithing or pottery.
There were the rare few that end up with gifts far superior than the worldly gifts. Truska, daughter of Nell and Ker, was born with the gift of pyromancy. It bothered her parents, at first, because Truska was born a month before her due date and as soon as she had come out, the infant's body was covered in a soft, all yellow flame. It burned for her parents to touch her for a while until she had opened her eyes.
Growing up as a child, she had often received special treatment from her teachers, which didn't put her in the best of favors with the other students. Even when they were instructed not to bring any harm to Truska, she still heard the whispers behind her back. At the age of six, a girl who wasn't Truska's biggest fan had been posessed by a demon of darkness that had been sent to exterminate any of the special children in the village. The possessed child immediately headed for Truska because of her hatred for young Truska.
Truska fought back as much as she could but the demon at the end of the day had the upper hand. The demon ripped out one of her eyes. Young Truska screamed in pain, and her screams had been transferred to large fire rings that killed the demon upon impact. She was losing blood fast. Truska was scared, as were other villagers. They brought her to the local shaman and found not much could be done. He gave her a new eye, a yellow one instead of her pitch black one and with about six days of intensive care to the child's wounds and fluctuation of blood levels, Truska would be on her way to recovering.
She had to wear eye bandages for the longest of times, Truska wasn't allowed to head out the door without her mother or father accompanying her. At the age of twelve, her father left on his own journies and soon after her mother abandoned her. Feeling rejected, unloved and unprotected, truska headed out into the world. She would meditate for hours on end, hoping some divine being would hear her cries and pleads for help. Instead of a giant, all knowing god.. A little fire beast had come into her life. He was a cute little bugger, she named him Clive. He acted as her protector and could grow in size, from a palm-sized (if one's hands are as small as Truska's) pocket toy up to a fiersome dragon-like creature.
It was around the age of sixteen that, with Clive's guidance, Truska was welcomed into the home of Les Cirque Noir. Truska had always kept away from more modern traditions under the assumption that the people were horrible and evil, but after the first few years, it had become her home. She grew to enjoy traveling all across the lands and bringing a visually appealing show to others who may have not seen such sights.
As she grew older and more mature, she started to experiment more with her abilities as a fire mage, under the assumption that it would enhance her performance and really wow the crowd. Not only did it do that but it gave her more insight as to who she was and what she wanted in life. She wanted to continue to explore and perhaps even find someone who was kind of like her.
Fun Facts:
The mini fire beast that always floats around her has been given the name Clive.
There are numerous fire beasts that will appear now and then. Sometimes Truska can't tell teh difference, so she calls them all Clive. Surprisingly, none of them are ever female, so it's perfectly legit.
She hates any kinds of food that are labeled 'fiery hot' and prefers sweeter, colder delicacies, oddly enough.
When she needs to fly from place to place, she can manipulate fire and a bit of her bones to make structured wings for the time being. It's a painful process but comes in handy.
Her yellow eye is not only a scar from what happened during her childhood, but it allows her to see a person's name and know practically everything about them with just one look.
